      We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

      Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

      Job Summary

      Dominion South Carolina's Corporate Security Badging Team is looking to hire a Security Background Specialist to support access control efforts at the company.

      Responsibilities include:


      Under direct guidance, assists with maintaining and updating access control systems. Issues badges and access for new hires, contractors, and vendors. Processes access security requests timely and efficiently as directed. Assists customers in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving access control processes and issues. Provides support for other security applications associated with access control. Works to know and understand compliance requirements and processes.


      In addition to the responsibilities, the candidate will also be responsible for developing new access procedures, building new access levels to improve efficiency, working with other departments to meet operational requirements for access changes. Understands the company hiring process and ensures successful implementation of access and badges for new hires. Works to know and understand compliance with all regulatory commitments (FERC, NERC-CIP) and processes for personal risk assessments.

      Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

      3+ years directly-related knowledge and experience in access controls, background investigations, and/or related experience.

      Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:

      Knowledge and experience with risk assessment methodologies and standard, to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risk.
      Experience with laws, codes, and government regulatory processes, to ensure regulatory compliance.
      Knowledge of the responsibilities and functions of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, to manage risk and seek appropriate remedies.
      Experience handling sensitive security information.
      Experience with contemporary security technology used for access control, intrusion detection, visitor identification, event monitoring, and countermeasures.
      Consistent demonstration of critical thinking skills in a security environment.
      Demonstrated ability to use security experience to add value to the corporation.
      Ability to obtain government issued security clearance, as required.

      Education Requirements

      Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
