Maintenance, operations, and security for six million square feet in more than 140 city-maintained facilities and structures

Develop and/or modify and administer security programs at congregate and non-congregate sites housing PEH and newcomers (sites increase and decrease based on the season and need, although several sites are constant)
Write, revise, and execute security policies, operational plans, and post orders for deployment at PEH and newcomer sites
Implement safety and security standards and consistent best practices across congregate and non-congregate sites managed through the Denver Security Office
Oversee and ensure program compliance in the security functional area at all congregate and non-congregate sites
Collect, analyze, and report performance data and metrics for applicable congregate and non-congregate security programs
Provide technical expertise in onsite risk analysis, security staffing and security equipment deployment and its function and training
Identify barriers and issues and resolve with onsite providers, security contractors, and city agencies
Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees, providers, city agencies, and other stakeholders to gain their cooperation and support
Support RFPs and contracts for new or expanding security needs at congregate and non-congregate sites
Monitor and prepare financial reports when requested
Leading by example, coaching, and mentoring
Successfully implementing programs and/or policy with little oversight (self-motivated)
Public safety and/or security policy
Trauma informed care and/or working with vulnerable populations including the unhoused and migrants
De-escalation techniques
Research and data analysis
Formalizing recommendations
Verbal and written communication, (i.e., procedures, policies)
Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in a related field based on a specific position(s).
Experience Requirement: Five (5) years’ experience performing full performance professional level duties within a specialized, functional area. (This does not include clerical experience.)
Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $85,000 – $110,000/annually, based on experience and education. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

In this role, you will be assigned to different job sites based on the needs of the business. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though it may vary depending on business needs.
What You’ll Do
The Administration Division within the Department of General Services oversees citywide service contracts, facility security, utility payments, and mailroom operations.
The team is seeking a Security Coordinator to join the Denver Security Office, reporting directly to the Chief Security Officer. While not a supervisory role, this position requires exceptional leadership skills and the ability to drive effective policy and operational changes within the programs it supports. As Security Coordinator, you will play a vital role in implementing the city’s security plans at congregate and non-congregate housing sites, providing critical support to individuals experiencing homelessness (PEH) and newly arriving migrants (newcomers).
In addition, as a Security Coordinator, you will:
This newly created position is expected to work exclusively in the field by visiting congregate and non-congregate sites. Onsite, consistent presence is a must. This position will receive support with access control and threat and resiliency analysis through existing positions.
