  Job Description

  Allied Universal is seeking Professional Security Guards in Canada.

  Job Title: Security Guard

  Job Location: Kitchener, ON

  Job Type: Full-time, temporary

  Pay Rate: $19.97 per hour

  Available shifts: Rotational Shifts (Full-availability is an asset)

  Note:

  - Candidates with continuous 5 year residency will be considered for advancement

  - For insurance purposes, candidates who are 25 years of age, has a full ontario G licence and a clear driver's abstract will also be considered

  Specific Duties Performed and Essential Functions• Access control for the facility/area• Present a polished, professional, customer friendly image at all times• Ability to manage conflicts and incidents and to deescalate• Patrolling and following protocols as per the post orders, which may include indoor or outdoor patrols, manage the movement of guests at various points throughout the property etc.• Ensure that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to fire alarms and other site Emergencies• Undertake site specific training, follow direction and guidance from Site Supervisor or Manager• Demonstrate good judgment, common sense and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents• Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills excellent verbal and written communication skills• Operate/monitor security room equipment, Completion of site required training

  • Front desk and reception duties included

  • Mobile Alarm

  QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Licensing requirements are subject to province and/or local laws and regulations and will be required prior to employment.
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background check
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
  • Able to:
    • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
    • Occasionally lift or carry up to 20 kilograms
    • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
    • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
