      The Security Manager will ensure the safety and security of associates and customers of all United Dairy Farmers retail stores in and surrounding the Greater Columbus, OH /Greater Dayton areas. S/he visits designated stores and conducts inspections of security systems, audits associate compliance with company policies, and reviews sales records/security camera video footage to help detect customer theft/shoplifting and suspicious associate behavior. S/he should be an excellent communicator and be comfortable working closely with law enforcement. The Security Manager is a full-time role, working approximately 40-45 hours per week and is on call 24/7. At times, the Security Manager will need to go to retail stores in the late evening/early morning should there be an emergency. This is not an armed position.

      DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Directs and participates in investigations and questioning of associates in cases of suspected theft
      • Assists detective investigations (supply video footage, receipts, etc.)
      • Follows through with case completion including appearing in court if necessary
      • Confers with representatives of local law enforcement agencies to ensure cooperation; building and maintaining strong, professional relationships is central to this role
      • Writes detailed incident and loss reports
      • Assures that all security related equipment (cameras, alarms, etc.) is installed and maintained properly
      • Directs, hires, and trains other security associates
      • Is responsible for hiring and selection of special duty officers when needed
      • Recommends security-related policies, practices, and procedures that may have a significant impact at UDF

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

      • Strong interpersonal and communication Skills
      • Excellent surveillance skills and a detective-like nature
      • Must have a safety mindset
      • Must be dependable
      • Knowledge of basic security procedures and equipment
      • Ability to remain calm and objective in tense situations
      • Ability to manage multiple tasks
      • Ability to read, write, and follow complex instructions

      Education and Experience:

      • High School Diploma
      • 7+ yrs experience law enforcement or security background
      • 2-5 years Loss prevention experience in a Retail environment
      • Experience writing detailed reports (theft/robbery)
      • Experience managing others (preferred, not required)
      • Experience in a retail environment (preferred, not required)
      • Detective experience (preferred, not required)
      • Ability to speak Spanish (preferred, not required)

      Technical Capabilities:

      • Knowledge of Microsoft word; Microsoft Excel; and Internet Explorer
      • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, reliable transportation and be able to visit several stores per shift
      • Experience working with security software and equipment (preferred, not required)
