  The community you’ll be caring for: Winter Garden Campus

  · AdventHealth Winter Garden is a state-of-the-art hospital with 80 beds, offering a wide range of health care services. These include emergency care, surgical services, lab work, primary and specialty care, imaging, spine health, women’s and men’s care, pediatric-friendly services, and more—all in one convenient location.

  · AdventHealth Winter Garden is undergoing a major expanding that will add three additional floors to the hospital's patient tower and bring additional women's services to West Orange County. Our hospital tower expansion will be completed in 2026.

  · The AdventHealth Winter Garden tower expansion will add 40 new progressive care unit beds, obstetrics and gynecology (including labor and delivery). One floor will be dedicated to labor and delivery, and will include nine labor, delivery, and recovery beds, 10 postpartum beds, two C-section operating rooms, and future space for a level two Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

  · The tower's expansion will also add space for more operating rooms, and a shell floor with capacity for 40 beds.

  The role you’ll contribute:

  Manages a group of security guards who ensure the protection of the organization's facilities, patients, visitors, and staff.
  
  

  The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • · Manages the daily operations of the security department. Develops and enforces security procedures and regulations

    · Acts as a liaison to all departments on security measures, procedures, and needs.

    · Monitors and follows up on complaints and investigations

    · Assigns responsibilities and tasks to support department function

    · Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and policies/procedures

    · May be required to oversight PBX/ communications

    · May be required to have oversight of emergency management plans

    · Performs other duties as assigned

  The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:

    •Ability to speak, read and write in the English language

    •Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

    •Ability to communicate and present effectively in both written and oral forms internally and externally

    •Ability to motivate co-workers to function effectively as a team in a challenging environment

    •Ability to assess risk and follow a proactive approach

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    · High School Grad or Equiv or 5+ years’ experience

    · 2 years of Leadership Experience

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    REQUIRED:

    •Associate's degree OR Technical degree in a related field OR Combination of High School diploma AND Two

    years of related experience

    •Five years of related experience with Two years of leadership/management experience

    PREFERRED:

    •Seven years of technical experience

    •Three years of leadership/management experience

    •National Emergency Preparedness, National Incident Management System (NIMS) may be required

    LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED :

    REQUIRED:

    •IAHSS - Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (CHSS) must be acquired within one year of hire

    •Basic Life Support (BLS) must be acquired within 90 days of hire

    PREFERRED:

    •Holds and maintains a Security License if state applicable

    •ASIS International, Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), and/or

    Professional Certified Investigator (PCI)

    •IAHSS Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA)

    •AVADE (Awareness, Vigilance, Avoidance, Defense, Escape De-Escalation) Certification

    •Handcuffing, or equitable national certification

    •Pepper Spray, or equitable national certification

    •Baton, or equitable national certification

    •Conducted Electrical Weapon if applicable to facility

    •Verbal de-escalation training

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    •Manages security staff
