    • Must have prior law enforcement or related security experience, or at least an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
    • Must complete all required training programs in a satisfactory manner, as determined by the Allentown School District.
    • Consistent record of satisfactory work performance.
    • Clear or acceptable background and clearance checks.
    • Patrols assigned building, grounds and halls to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
    • Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows and gates to determine that they are secure.
    • Confronts unauthorized persons for identification, routing and/or assistance or calls police for assistance according to emergency action plan.
    • Responds as directed by the building administrator in matters of security.
    • Patrols school grounds and adjacent areas as assigned to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles.
    • Draft and submit written reports of security incidents and violations.
    • Responds immediately to all requests for assistance in emergency situations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned under contract.

      Qualifications:

      Summary
      The Security Officer assists in the educational process by protecting students and staff members from harm while on school premises, and protecting school-owned property from loss or damage caused by anti-social acts. This is an 11-month position, with responsibilities spanning the regular school and summer school sessions up to a maximum of 225 days.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
      Incumbents must be able to perform the following minimum duties in a satisfactory manner, with or without reasonable accommodations:
