      Job Description

      As a Security Officer - Education Patrols - Overnight in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more .

      As an unarmed patrol officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, assisting students, staff, and visitors, and responding to situations with professionalism and strong communication skills. You will contribute to a positive environment by delivering exceptional customer service and working collaboratively with others, reflecting our values of agility, reliability, and integrity.

      Position Type: Part Time

      Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

      Job Schedule:

      DayTimeFri11:00 PM - 07:00 AMSat11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

      Responsibilities:

      • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
      • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
      • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the educational location and its perimeter, adapting to varying working environments and conditions as required by the site.
      • Help to deter unwanted activity by maintaining a visible presence and reporting any suspicious behavior or incidents.
      • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, students, and visitors while upholding the standards of the location.

      Minimum Requirements:

      • North Carolina Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
      • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
      • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
      • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
      • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
      • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
      • Licensing requirements are subject to state and or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
      • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
