      Job Description

      The Event Security Officer will provide and maintain a safe and secure environment for our guests and team members in a variety of different venues and locations on the property while delivering superior guest service at all times. This is an on-call position for working special events throughout the property. On call officers will be selected for events based on first come first serve bases as events are posted and the number of needed officers is determined.

      • The Event Security Officer will respond to guest inquiries in a courteous and polite manner
      • Anticipate guest needs
      • The Event Security Officer will maintain all Ameristar Standards
      • Greet all guests promptly with a friendly and upbeat attitude
      • Crowd Control
      • The Event Security Officer will Check identification of all possible underage guests
      • Enforcement of all policy and procedure
      • Theft prevention
      • The Event Security Officer will protect privacy of guests and team members
      • Guest safety
      • Prevent and resolve altercations
      • Intervention with disruptive guests
      • Respond and Resolve Alcohol related issues
      • Recognize potential intoxicated patrons proactively
      • Respond and resolve potential intoxicated and/or disruptive guests
      • Must be able to write reports and have computer knowledge

      Qualifications

      (Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

      • Must be friendly, outgoing, professional, trustworthy, tolerant, respectful, and confident
      • Available to work late hours
      • Effective communicator
      • Work in an environment subject to varying noise levels, crowds and smoke.
      • Recognize potential security and safety risks
      • Effectively write incident reports
      • Must not have been convicted of any crime for which registration is required
      • High school graduate or completion of GED certificate
      • Previous casino security or law enforcement experience desired. (May be waived if all other requirements are met)
      • Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and gaming license within assigned state of employment and other jurisdictions
      • Must successfully pass background check
      • Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
      • Must be 21 years of age
