This position offers an optional commitment award of $2500.00 for a 2 year commitment for individuals not currently employed by FHN.

SUMMARY:
Guards patient, staff and property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties:

• Patrols buildings and grounds within the Network on a routine basis.
• Examines doors, windows, offices and equipment to determine they are properly secured.
• Communicates policy infractions to customers, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and detains persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts, or escorts off campus.
• Provides escorts for customers to their vehicles.
• Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked and equipment left on.
• Conducts safety/security educational programs.
• Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of persons engaged in suspicious or criminal acts.
• Records data such as property damage or unusual occurrences.
• Monitors parking control and visitation programs.
• Determines where a potential security risk exists and the best way to minimize the risk.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with one to two years related security or law enforcement experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must also possess a current Illinois drivers license. The employee must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills must be continuously demonstrated with all customers.
