      Your day at NTT DATA
      The Security Guard Level 1 is an entry level role, responsible for playing a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and compliance of the Data Center physical infrastructure, equipment, and employees.

      This role works under supervision to ensure that security measures are in place and functioning properly.

      This role enforces and adheres to security procedures based on policies determined by the Security Management team and uses their vigilance and attention to detail abilities to contribute towards maintaining a secure environment for the Data Center customer and infrastructure.

      Key responsibilities:
      • Ensures that all employees, clients, vendors, and visitors on company property have proper company-issued identification.
      • Patrols assigned post on foot to maintain visibility and observes possible unusual activity.
      • Ensures that the client, its associates, and Data Center employees are provided with a safe and professional work environment.
      • Investigates, address if possible, and report security, maintenance, and safety conditions.
      • Maintains assigned equipment to ensure it is functional and in presentable condition.
      • May assist with Shipping and Receiving tasks as required by management.
      • Responds to emergencies and coordinates with local emergency management resources.
      • Investigates and reports fires, evacuations, hazardous situations/other facility related events.
      • Maintains familiarity of Security procedures and policies in addition to Company policies.
      • Gains exposure to investigations involving security related accidents/incidents, interviews witnesses, complaints, and victims; gather and preservation of property
      • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

      • Excellent ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal methods with clients, vendors, and co-workers.
      • Ability to operate in a rigorous process-driven team environment.
      • Ability to logically analyze and solve problems.
      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
      • Strong team player with the ability to follow instructions, adhere to security procedures, and work effectively in a team environment.
      • Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and reliability in fulfilling security responsibilities.
      • Must be able to respond to emergency situations at the data center.

      Academic qualifications and certifications:
      • High School diploma or GED required.
      • Additional education or training in security-related fields is a plus.
      • Possession of relevant certifications such as Certified Security Guard (CSG) or Certified Protection Officer (CPO).
      • CPR/First Aid Certification (can be obtained in first 6 months working for NTT).

      Required experience:
      • Basic experience with standard methods, practices, tools and equipment for the security team.
      • Basic experience in security roles, preferably in a data center or similar environment.
      • Basic experience in the administration and operation of access control systems, CCTV systems with digital recording, and photo ID systems preferred.
