      Job Description

      The Security Officer under general supervision, provide safety and protection of Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa; including money transactions, public relations, performing command center functions, assisting guests and employees, as needed and maintaining order. Starting pay from $17.50.

      (These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

      • The Security Officer will deliver exceptional internal and external guest service.
      • Assist patrons and employees during critical incidents.
      • The Security Officer will maintain security related MGC standards and immediately report all MGC violations.
      • Respond to incidents where physical force may be required.
      • The Security Officer will conduct and clearly document investigations when necessary.

      Qualifications

      (Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

      • Must be at least 21 years of age
      • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license
      • Ability to work under pressure by maintaining composure when exposed to stress.
      • Must be able to physically walk and stand for an 8 hour shift.
      • Must be able to consistently work weekends and holidays.

      These skills are typically acquired through a high school education or equivalent and two (2) years customer service experience or through closely related experience, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

      • Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and gaming license within assigned state of employment and other jurisdictions
      • Must successfully pass background check
      • Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
      • Must be 21 years of age
