  Job Summary We are currently seeking to recruit a Security Officer to join our highly dynamic workforce for our Simberi Operations on Simberi Island in New Ireland Province. The Role Reporting to the Security Supervisor, The Security Officer is responsible for the Daily Security Operations of the Gold Room to ensure accountability and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures of the Gold Room This is an exciting time to join Simberi & St Barbara as we embark on our “Building Brilliance” journey to transform the business and deliver sustainable value. This is a FIFO position; the roster is 21/14. Point of Hire is restricted to Kavieng/Rabaul/Port Moresby/Lae/Mt Hagen/Alotau/Buka/Goroka/Hoskins/Madang/Popondetta/Wapenamanda or the Tabar Group of Islands. (Locals are encouraged to apply) Key responsibilities include: Technical accountabilities * Perimeter checks and inspection of exterior of the gold room * Supervise the contractor gold room guard (G4S) during opening and lockup, personnel entry/exit checks and searches. * Inspect electronic security and surveillance devices to ensure they are fully functioning and not tempered with * Witness weighing of materials and note down weight(wet/dry) of GBM * Be present with GR operators when they are handling GBM(Gold Bearing Material) following the process from washdown to smelting and pouring. * Be present with and witness Finance and Process reps during weighing and lock up of gold bars after smelting * Stand in as Armoured Vehicle driver when required * Inspect and compile 274 report for Gold Room * Compile Gold Room Compliance Inspection and Housekeeping Reports * Maintain Dore Bullion Log * Responsible for Gold Shipment Verification Sheets during shipment of bullion * Daily GR Activities to be reported at the end of each shift. * On call after normal working hours to re - enter the GR on request from the Processing Manager. * Assist Security Team Leader with site security operations during GR down time. Qualifications, skills, and experience required: * Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s Values * Police Clearance * Current PNG Driver’s License * 5 years Supervisory role or above with a reputable security firm * Experience in similar role * First Aid Certificate About Us This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic and motivated team of industry professionals with considerable experience in the demands and practices of the mining industry.
