      Evenings/Nights (United States of America)

      This position will support St. Vincent Hospital, and may also support other Mercy Health Hospitals in the Toledo Metro and Rural areas.

      The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all people and property in and around the hospital. Makes periodic checks of the property to insure the safety and security of all persons and property. The Security Officer is always aware of their surroundings, watching for any type of illegal occurrences, fire or other hazardous conditions. Responds to emergency situations in order to provide assistance to the party in need.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Must have proven dependability and consistency

      • Must have a pre-employment records check done by the Toledo Police. There is a small fee for this service that is non-refundable by the hospital.

      • Must pass a pre-employment physical including a strength capacity test.

      • Must possess the physical ability to walk long distances, preform in inclement weather, preform daily repetitive duties.

      • Must have a telephone and reliable transportation

      • Crisis intervention training is required, offered once the officer is hired if they have not met this requirement

      Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

      Training/Certification: 120 hours of Ohio Peace Officers training or comparable law enforcement education or two years active duty as military police officer required. Valid drivers license with no serious traffic violations in the past 3 years.
