- High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and essential functions.
- Ability to obtain a valid NYS Security Guard Certification, with verification of the 16-hour basic OJT training certification.
- Have a current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- A minimum of 2 years' experience with commercial drone flying and the photogrammetry process.
- A strong working knowledge of DroneDeploy, Matterport and
AirData software. - Ability to receive, prioritize project requests, communicate effectively with colleagues and multi-task.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Conduct operational drone flights to fulfill the requests of College Departments such as; Office of Safety and Security, Physical Plant, Buildings and Grounds, Computer Science Department and the Office of Communications and Marketing
- Perform interior imagery scans to produce interactive building models.
- Maintain, update, and publish all Marist College drone policies and operational guidelines.
- Maintain an inventory of all drones and associated drone equipment.
- Maintain flight logs of all flights conducted on-campus.
- Coordinate with drone pilots on-campus to stay up to date on any FAA information or regulations.
- Program, test, and coordinate all pre-planned flight operations for emergency situations.
- In collaboration with a Security Administrator, receive, evaluate, and approve/deny all drone flight requests from students and the public.
- Coordinate with FAA personnel and neighboring first responder drone teams when necessary.
- Patrol assigned area on foot, in assigned motor vehicle, or other specialized vehicle to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.
- Inform, warn and document violators of rule infractions.
- Watch for and report irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations.
- Contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.
- Patrol and monitors assigned parking areas to provide public security and enforce infractions utilizing automated ticket system. Maintains security controls for issued College keys; safeguards and controls issued College equipment.
- Prepare automated incident reports.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Provide strong student focused costumer service.
- Identify fire safety issues and report observations.
- Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures as they relate to duties of a Drone Pilot and Security Officer.
- A strong service orientation and demonstrated ability to work in a diverse, multicultural community, and intra-departmentally.
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
- Crewed aviation (Part 61) pilot experience
- Certification in FEMA ICS-100 and ICS-700 certificate courses
- Ability to successfully work with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to perform CPR/AED
- Conform to duties detailed in the Security Office Procedures and other duties deemed necessary by the department policies
- 40 hours of paid vacation years 0-3. 120 hours of paid vacation years 4-7. 160 hours of paid vacation years 8+
- Paid personal time of 40 hours per year
- Paid sick time of 10 days per year.

- Tuition Benefits:
- Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
- College pays 100% tuition only.
- Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.

Job Summary:
Marist College seeks applications for the position of Security Officer/Drone Pilot. The Security Officer/Pilot is responsible for providing excellent customer service and focuses on safety and security to all members of the Marist community, including parents and guests. The Security Officer/Drone Pilot is responsible for the security of equipment and real property, remains alert and engaged at al times, demonstrates an understanding and embraces engagement with a diverse population, and is capable of responding to crisis situation, working to support other Department's Drone needs and making decisions based upon policy.
