ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for Security Supervisor at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.
Rate: $26.41
Considered as a Floating Security Supervisor, this role is responsible for patrolling all areas of property and parking lots, securing doors, ensuring the safety of all guests, employees and contract labor while on premises; securing property during move in/out trade shows, conventions or events by performing the following duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the delivery of quality services by the security team at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.
- Acts as a liaison between , Security Manager and professional security officers. They supervise staff on assigned shift, providing coaching, recognition and discipline within approved empowerment range.
Qualifications/Requirements
-Be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
-Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
-Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
-As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology.
- Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
- Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain or heat
- Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
- Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
- Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
Education And/or Experience
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); some college preferred
Minimum two (2) years security experience, preferably in a similar environment
Skills And Abilities
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong customer service skills
Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management
Ability to work irregular hours including, night shifts, weekends and holidays
Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, the individual should have excellent computer knowledge.
Other Qualifications
Valid California Driver's License required
This position requires appropriate credentials as mandated by State, County or local law: valid California Guard Card issued by BSIS.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear; interact with aggressive people. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events and may be subjected to adverse conditions. This position may require climbing, stooping, lifting heavy objects, use hands and fingers.
