      The Role: Security Systems Technician

      As a Security Systems Technician at Switch, you will be part of a world-class team that operates in excellence, delivering mission-critical solutions that redefine what’s possible in AI, cloud and enterprise data center needs. Your work will directly impact the future of technology and the sustainable growth of the Internet.

      In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of electronic security systems. This includes working with access control platforms, CCTV systems, alarm panels, intercoms, IP-based cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), servers, and other related technologies.

      What You’ll Do

      • Install a variety of security systems and components, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
      • Program security systems to meet specific operational and client requirements.
      • Modify existing systems and components to accommodate upgrades or changes in system design.
      • Troubleshoot technical issues across multiple security platforms to identify and resolve faults.
      • Perform routine maintenance to ensure continued performance and reliability of security systems.
      • Repair malfunctioning or damaged security components to restore full system functionality.
      • Maintain and service electronic testing equipment used in the shop environment.
      • Travel to various Switch locations as required to support regional operations and projects.
      • Drive next-level innovation in Security to support our mission-critical infrastructure.

      What You'll Bring

      • Previous security system installation experience.
      • Experience with platforms such as: AXIS, Bosch and Avigilon Cameras, CCURE Access Control, MILESTONE Video Management Software and Aiphone Intercom Systems.
      • Capable of performing pre-wiring for alarm systems, CCTV, and access control installations.
      • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, system software/ programs, schematics and operational/installation manuals.
      • Strong understanding of the technical application of security devices, with proficiency in computer programming and system troubleshooting.
      • Excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
      • Familiarity with IP-based devices, physical networking, and related technologies is highly desirable.
      • Proficient in using standard electronic shop tools, hand tools, and diagnostic instruments.
      • Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
      • Experience in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word).
      • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
      • Thorough knowledge of workplace hazards and adherence to proper safety protocols.
      • Self-motivated and team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
      • Proactive and capable of completing tasks independently with minimal supervision.
      • A High School Diploma or GED.
      • Must adhere to all established safety protocols and procedures in applicable situations and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
      • Ability to influence and partner with executive leadership to drive strategy and execution.
      • Experience fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
      • A strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision with operational execution.
