      Seeds Production Field Representative

      At the core of our operation, we're accountable for top-quality seeds, ensuring reliable yield, cost-effectiveness and timelines. We excellerate in nurturing professional relationships with growers, contractors, and internal teams. Safety and compliance, along with pricing and contract strategies, are our focus, guaranteeing your success.
      You will work closely in a small team consisting of 4 people and report to the Area Production Lead. In this role your field area is Belgium where you will regularly visit the growers and build up an intensive relationship with them. You will also visit our site in Enkhuizen with some regularity, where you will work closely with the cleaning team.


      YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Accountable and responsible for the grower selection process to achieve higher production reliability, which includes grower background check, review previous reliability and performance, isolation distance, suitability of the production area etc.
      • Ensure that all the prework is done before the start of each production cycle and grower is prepared to start the production within the optimum sowing window.
      • Responsible for supporting activities e.g. timely stock seeds shipment to grower, arrangements for the trial (production research, production related), arrangements of harvesting, threshing, and drying. transportation of seeds from grower to other locations for further processing and cleaning.
      • Ensure that timely visit of crops at all stages of crop cycle to monitor crop development. Discuss and advise growers to adopt best practices for seed productions. Based on the crop stages and crop condition, advising/instructing growers to apply crop protection products (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides etc.).
      • Providing guidance and instructions to growers about crop growing (Growing Instructions), cutting, drying and threshing. More detailed instructions and advise growers to adopt best practices for seed production. Insuring the isolation control and perform crop rouging.
      • Responsible for training production workers and growers.
      • Ensuring timely and realistic update of the production estimates in the sytems.
      • Ensuring that field inspections are done in a timely manner with Field Quality team and local authorities to obtain required phytosanitary certificates for shipping the seeds to other countries.
      • Production Data and Analysis - Review quantity, quality, cost and timeliness data and address areas for improvement, simplification, optimization or expansion of our business, including Grower Performance analysis.
      • Monitor seed shipments from production to plant operations based on the schedule and commitment to pay grower on time.
      • Responsible for timely grower settlement and coordinate / support to resolve any issue with grower / vendors.
      • Innovation. Work with Seed Production Specialist, Filed Quality and Production Research personnel to identify and address projects to improve reliability, quality, and/or cost.

      WHO YOU ARE

      • B.S. degree or Master degree (MS or MBA, preferred) with 3+ years' experience in seed production / seed industry.
      • Excellent human relation skills, effective communication skills required.
      • Ability to influence all levels in the organization.

      • Process Oriented and Results Orientated.
      • Negotiations Skills, Plans and Aligns.

      • Good knowledge of English and Dutch, our company language is English.
