We currently have a vacancy for a Seized Property Technician In this role, you will be supporting the overall mission of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS).       Responsibilities

      • Provides general property custodial assistance to government authorities, to include receiving property, ordering appraisals, disposing of property, and maintaining and conducting inventories.
      • Responsible for the storage of property and monitoring of the property in storage.
      • Maintains all records, including financial records.
      • Prepares and arranges auctions as required.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.


      Requirements

      Requirements

      • High School Diploma or GED
      • Three-year's experience in supply technician or inventory management duties, or three years of asset forfeiture experience. This includes limited aspects of technical supply management and inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items
      • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
      • Excellent communication skills; oral and written
      • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other common software applications and databases
      • Strong attention to detail; meticulous data entry skills
      • Proven commitment and competence to provide excellent customer service; positive and flexible
      • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a professional disposition

      This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a 7 (or 10) year minimum background investigation

      Agency Overview

      The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) plays a critical role in the Asset Forfeiture Program by managing and selling assets seized and forfeited by federal law enforcement agencies nationwide. Proceeds generated from asset sales are used to compensate victims, supplement funding for law enforcement initiatives and support community programs. The Marshals Service manages various types of assets, including real estate, vehicles, commercial businesses, cash, financial instruments, jewelry, art, antiques, collectibles, vessels, and aircraft.
