      What We Are Looking For

      The Senior Academic Advisor for Baylor Interdisciplinary Core is responsible for assisting students in developing education plans, advising recommended courses, discussing academic progress, and documenting advising contacts to support Baylor University in its mission and vision.

      A Master’s Degree, two years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith is required. A Doctoral Degree and four years of relevant work experience is preferred.

      All applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

      What You Will Do

      • Assist students in developing education plans, advising recommended courses, discussing academic progress and documenting advising contacts
      • Help with sustaining as well as creating an inclusive environment that promotes equity and belonging among a diverse groups of students
      • Enhance student mentoring and retention by teaching up to four credit hours per academic year
      • Monitor newly enrolled and continuing student numbers to ensure scheduling needs are met
      • Participate in the development of program and college objectives and actions connected with the University’s vision
      • Provide professional mentoring, consultation and expertise to students
      • Project and manage initiatives specific to the Academic Unit
      • Assist with external communications related to Academic Unit
      • Develop and provide assessments of retention initiatives
      • Prepare and update advising materials as needed (including academic planners)
      • Represent BIC at recruiting events and Orientation sessions
      • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
      • Comply with Baylor University policies
