      Job Description:

      About the Role:

      The Senior Accountant will be a part of Cityblock’s in-house accounting team and will play an essential role not only in ensuring that there is financial accuracy, documentation and analysis associated with our monthly/ yearly procedures, but also in building out our financial infrastructure. This is a cross-functional role in nature that will partner closely with many departments across the business to assist in improving our processes for our customers (ex. the larger business). Some of the departments that you will mainly interact with are Finance, People, Technology, and Operations.

      Responsibilities:

      Financial Reporting

      • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

      • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.

      • Prepare financial reports for management, highlighting key financial metrics and trends.

      Compliance and Audit

      • Ensure compliance accounting and regulatory standards.

      • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.

      • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.

      Financial Analysis

      • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, including cost-benefit analysis, profitability analysis, and financial modeling.

      • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and industry trends.

      • Assist in evaluating and implementing financial systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.

      Payroll and Accounts Management

      • Support payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and benefits.

      • Collaborate with the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

      • Monitor cash flow and manage cash management activities.

      Requirements:

      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field

      • 3+ years experience as an accountant in a startup environment

This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is:

      $80,000 - $100,000 annually
