      Group 1 seeks to hire a Senior Accountant for our Corporate Consolidations Department.

      Responsibilities

      The responsibilities of this position primarily include:

      • Review of dealership financial statements, supporting schedules and internally generated audit reports.
      • Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages.
      • Assistance with the consolidation of the financial statements for Group 1’s dealerships and various corporate entities.
      • Prepare and assist with review of monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
      • Prepare and assist with review of quarterly reserve analysis.
      • Perform acquisition and disposition accounting procedures.
      • Prepare and assist with review of various journal entries.
      • Assistance with special projects; and
      • Creation of ad hoc reports.

      Qualifications

      Desired Qualifications

      The candidate must be:

      • A team-first oriented employee;
      • Able to excel in a fast-paced environment;
      • Detail oriented;
      • Highly analytical;
      • Willing and able to work the necessary hours to accomplish the assigned tasks, especially during month- and quarter-end close process; and
      • An effective communicator, including the use of both verbal and written forms of communication.

      The candidate should have:

      • Successfully retained a Bachelor’s degree, with a major in accounting, from a reputable business college;
      • A firm understanding of accounting principles;
      • At least 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in accounting at a large, multi-location corporation and/or public accounting firm (previous experience with consolidations accounting is a plus);
      • Certification as a public accountant or working towards certification is a plus;
      • Experience mentoring/coaching staff-level employees in the accomplishment of daily tasks;
      • Proficiency handling multiple, simultaneous projects;
      • A working knowledge of Oracle FCCS and Oracle Fusion ERP;
      • Advanced Excel experience: familiarity with SmartView or other Excel add-in tools for querying EPM data is a plus.
