- Executes the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of the general ledger, which includes the preparation and posting of journal entries.
- Conducts reconciliations and analyses of the general ledger and individual accounts.
- Performs monthly bank reconciliations and updates bank records daily.
- Manages fixed asset continuity schedules and records depreciation.
- Prepares data for weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Prepares supplementary schedules and analyzes data as needed.
- Provides support for accounts payable and receivable functions, serving as a backup to colleagues.
- Delivers periodic and ad hoc reports and analyses on operational performance, focusing on margins, variances, and providing feedback on outcomes.
- Contributes to budget preparation and development.
- Analyzes and explains financial variances from budgets, forecasts, and previous periods on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Collaborates with other departments and management to address issues and support business objectives.
- Manages insurance claims processes, including data collection, communication with the insurance agency and adjusters, and monitoring the status of claims.
- Aids in the creation of financial statements and reports.
- This role is located in our Coppell, TX office
- Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting and 3 to 5 years of experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a must
- Big Four or National Firm accounting experience is preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP and experience in consolidated financial reporting
- Conscientious and able to work independently with minimal direction
- Good GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Detail oriented and organized
