      To Be Successful: A successful Senor Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and accounting transactions. This position will collaborate with and be supported by a team of accountants.

      The Role: The Senior Accountant II will directly report to the Director, Accounting Operations. This position is expected to apply advanced technical knowledge and expertise to perform a full spectrum of financial, regulatory, reporting and accounting assignments including preparation of complex financial transactions, reports and related analysis. Communicates accounting issues, trends and policy to senior management and other groups at the appropriate level of detail. Leads special projects, process improvement and problem resolution.

      Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

      • Responsible for general ledger activities as assigned including, preparing journal entries, reconciling assigned balance sheet accounts, and providing analysis for assigned income statement accounts.
      • Perform analytical revi ew to research and resolve complex accounting discrepancies or variances.
      • Perform complex audits of financial records and transactions, review and match records and statements to ensure accuracy and resolve or make recommendations for correction.
      • Create audit reports, and work with external auditors to support the annual audit process.
      • Support due diligence & integration activities for acquisitions.
      • Provide accounting support to assigned pharmacy locations.
      • Continually assess and lead efforts to improve processes, enhance coordination, and develop efficiencies for accounting systems and work performed.
      • Ensure compliance with current acco unting standards, organizational policies and applicable laws and regulations.
      • Effectively interface with stakeholders to respond to inquiries and specific accounting transactions
      • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed

      Education:

      • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution in acc oun ting is required
      • MAcc or MBA (prefer red, not required)
      • CPA License

      Skills and Qualifications:

      • 5+ years of professional accounting experience showing increasing responsibilities; Corporate
      • GL accounting experience preferred; 2+ years of variance analysis preferred
      • Large company industry experience is preferred
      • Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting principles
      • Proficient in MS Business Solutions, including Excel
      • Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
      • Ability to exercise independent judgment on complex issues
      • Flexi ble and able to quickly adapt to new systems and the changing needs of a growing business
      • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
      • Proficient in Large ERP Systems; Workday experience preferred.
