      Job Description

      A large organization is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting operations based in Lenexa, KS. This position requires a detail-oriented and reliable individual to perform essential accounting duties and contribute to the financial integrity of the company.

      Responsibilities

      • Reconcile sub-ledger accounts to the general ledger for all companies.
      • Participate in the month-end close process.
      • Prepare journal entries and perform other general accounting tasks.
      • Engage in research and analytical problem-solving.
      • Respond to branch inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
      • Prepare summary financial information and ad hoc reports for management as needed.
      • Assist with external audits and prepare necessary schedules.
      • Contribute to special projects as needed.
      • Collaborate effectively with colleagues through various communication methods.
      • Maintain accuracy and timeliness in all tasks.
      • Learn and adapt to new computer functionalities.

      Essential Skills

      • Proficiency in reconciliation, journal entries, and fixed asset accounting.
      • Strong understanding of general ledger maintenance and accounting principles.
      • Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
      • Knowledge of GAAP and balance sheet management.
      • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
      • Minimum of 4 years traditional accounting experience.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • CPA certification is highly preferred.
      • Experience in public accounting or within a large company with high volume and complexity.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

      Work Environment

      The role is based 100% in the office, fostering a very collaborative and energetic environment. The position reports to the Accounting Manager over the GL/fixed assets team. The company offers competitive pay with eligibility for raises twice annually, a 10% annual bonus, and an incentive bonus plan.       The pay range for this position is $84000.00 - $84000.00/yr.
