Job Description
- Req#: 1515
- Ensures account activity is recorded, corrections are made, adjustments are calculated and journal entries are prepared
- Assists with budget preparation and forecasting
- Reviews and prepares month/year end reports, accrual schedules and ad-hoc reports and analysis
- Reviews and verifies entries and computer printouts to ensure accuracy of all account figures
- Assist with external and internal audits
- Prepares bank reconciliations and cash posting reports
- Maintains Accounting files
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other business related field
- Minimum 2 years accountant/accounting experience - healthcare / hospital environment preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare industry (OSHPD)
- Above average computer skills, including Advanced Level experience with Excel spreadsheets
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to perform complex analysis
- Ability to exercise professional judgement in performing day-to-day activities, ensuring adherence to generally accepted accounting principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to review, correct and discuss financial matters with hospital leadership
- Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a stressful environment
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting practices, the SENIOR ACCOUNTANT performs various accounting functions with respect to general ledger accounting, financial statements and account analysis. The SENIOR ACCOUNTANT assists in the preparation of schedules, statistical studies and financial statement highlights.
