- BS or BA in Accounting required
- CPA or active pursuit of license desired
- 3-5 years of prior experience in preparing business and individual returns
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office especially, Word, and Excel
- QuickBooks experience in desktop and online versions preferred
- Proficiency in tax preparation software; Prosystem FX Tax experience preferred
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated
- Effective communicator with the ability to ask questions in a professional, clear and concise manner and show patience with clients
- Strong work ethic, integrity and reliability
- Professionalism and the ability to maintain client confidentiality

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our mid-sized accounting firm located in Mount Arlington, NJ. In this role you will prepare both business and personal tax returns as well as provide strategic tax planning advice to clients.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare, review, and analyze individual, trust, gift, partnership, and corporate tax returns
· Communicate directly with clients regarding tax returns and other tax related issues
· Research and advise on client tax questions
· Plan for and identify tax saving opportunities for business clients and owners
· Review and adjust client accounting records to reconcile to tax returns; adjust for cash and accrual basis accounting differences
· Display skill, judgement, initiative, and attention to detail and independently handle multiple assignments
· Supervise and train entry-level accounting staff
· All other duties as assigned by your Manager
