      Job Description

      As a Senior Accounting Analyst, you’ll provide accounting support for Best Buy Ads, Best Buy’s growing retail media network business. You’ll research and determine the accounting treatment for new advertising arrangements and contracts, with a primary focus on revenue recognition and vendor funding accounting guidance. You’ll help establish an accounting policy for the Best Buy Ads business, determine the proper accounting for each arrangement and contract, and help to operationalize new business activity. You’ll work closely with the external auditors to finalize the accounting policy and to vet ongoing accounting conclusions.

      This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

      What you’ll do

      • Monitor and review new Best Buy Ads contracts in close partnership with procurement, tax and ad team
      • Perform month-end close responsibilities such as journal entries, account reconciliations, TM1 allocations and external reporting requests
      • Research technical accounting related to new contracts, recommend accounting treatment and document conclusions
      • Provide insight into the Best Buy Ads business and finance teams regarding the accounting impacts of various advertising contracts
      • Create and implement tracking, processes, documentation and journal entries for the new business

      Basic qualifications
      • 2 years of accounting or finance experience
      • Intermediate Excel skills

      Preferred qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or related field
      • Strong written, verbal and presentation-related communication skills
      • GAAP accounting knowledge and an ability to research questions as they arise
