      Senior Accounting Manager

      BL Companies is growing and seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to manage the financial and accounting operations of the company.

      This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial data and reporting, managing daily accounting functions, and leading budgeting, tax and audit activities. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

      This position will play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives related to data processing, financial reporting, and compliance.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Manage the daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed asset maintenance, and cash processing.

      • Focus on continuous improvement of accounting controls, timely information, and cost containment

      • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, cash flows) to assess the company’s financial position.

      • Lead the company’s budgeting process, including preparation, monitoring, and analysis of departmental budgets and financial forecasts.

      • Develop and implement policies for credit, collections, and financial operations.

      • Coordinate external audits (annual review, ESOP, 401k, insurance, BFO audits) and ensure compliance with financial and tax regulations.

      • Prepare and submit required reports to financial institutions, auditors, and federal, state, and local taxing authorities.

      • Responsible for productivity, backlog and revenue tracking reports to support management decision making.

      • Manage banking relationships and prepare quarterly covenant reporting.

      • Support lease negotiations, vehicle fleet management, and capital purchases.

      • Lead efforts to improve financial systems, automate manual processes, and ensure compliance with evolving accounting standards.

      • Provide coaching, supervision, and development opportunities to accounting team members.

      Supervisory Responsibilities:

      • Direct supervision of financial accounting staff.

      • Responsibilities include hiring, training, performance management, employee development, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA required.

      • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience.

      • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, taxes, and budgeting processes.

      • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with A&E accounting software preferred

      • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.

      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
