- Perform a variety of paraprofessional and technical accounting duties in the preparation, maintenance, and review of financial records and reports.
- Coordinate with the Financial Aid office to establish semester disbursement dates and ensure timeliness of refunds.
- Serve in a lead capacity over financial aid disbursements. Process financial aid refunds in connection with the financial aid disbursement calendar and within established federal guidelines; establish work procedures and processes.
- Research and analyze specific problems in the preparation of assigned reports.
- Reconcile and balance assigned accounts and funds against the general ledger.
- Prepare and maintain daily reports and records of returned funds as required. Verify account status and process replacements.
- Prepare, process, and maintain collections on student accounts. Prepare and send notification letters, reconcile account balances on a monthly basis.
- Assist students at the front counter; provide information regarding student account status.
- Advise and inform other divisions and departments on accounting policies and procedures; answer questions concerning assigned accounting activities.
- Provide a leadership role on student accounts.
- Collect and process returned financial aid checks, including maintaining appropriate records of actions; sending letters and phone contact to notify students of returned checks and assist with replacement procedures as necessary.
