Job Posting
American National seeks a detail-oriented and self-motivated Senior Accounting Technician for our Cash Management team in our League City office.
What Will You Do?
• Electronic payment processing on bank portals; analyze supporting documents and accounting coding for payment requests and journal entries
• Meet daily bank cutoffs for executing transactions and clearing exception items
• Morning cash position; independently reviews trends in cash activity and other known pending transactions to set the daily cash position by calculating the current day cash needs and initiating bank transfers to fund our accounts
• Coordinates small projects and works with cross-function teams within Finance to improve payment and banking processes and implement new products
• Reconcile cash and other GL accounts to systems and other supporting documents; maintains check register
• Coordinate bank account life cycle from accounting opening, maintenance to closing as well as bank account inventory management and bank fee analysis.Qualifications:
• Associate degree
• 2 - 5 years of relevant treasury, general accounting, or accounts payable experience and working knowledge of treasury and accounting principles
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel
• Good interpersonal skills and spoken and written communication
