      Job Description

      What is the opportunity?

      Reporting to the Director Actuary, GRMI International, the successful incumbent will be responsible to support actuarial reporting, risk management, and IFRS 17 transformation for the reinsurance product lines. This is a role with various exposures and may also have the opportunity to train and coach junior staffs

      What will you do

      • Support and enhance the actuarial and risk management functions for the Reinsurance product lines, including but not limited to: month-end valuation and reporting, in-force data updates, and actuarial modelling

      • Lead merge files / in-force extracts update for the Reinsurance product lines, including data cleansing, data analyzing, and AXIS implementation

      • Support IFRS 17 transformation and implementation, including production of comparative runs, enhancement of downstream reporting and analysis, process improvement, etc.

      • Work closely with the business and other functional partners on strategic projects and tactical actions including business planning and forecasting

      • Contributed as needed to annual experience studies and other projects as they arise

      What do you need to succeed?

      Must Have

      • Bachelor’s degree (or above) majoring in Actuarial Science. Other relevant Majors (e.g. Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics) are acceptable if accompanied with demonstrated knowledge of Actuarial concepts
      • ASA with 6 or more actuarial exams is required
      • Actuarial/insurance experience of 3 or more years with demonstrated knowledge of professional standards of practice, the legislative environment and industry best-practices
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be an innovative thinker and understand the "big picture"
      • High energy, results-oriented self-starter with the ability to achieve under tight deadlines in a rewarding and fast-paced environment
      • Strong working experience with GGY AXIS and MS Excel
      • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audiences

      Nice-to-Haves

      • Working experience with Power BI, R or Tableau
      • Working experience with IFRS 17
      • Experience working with team located in multiple countries
