      We are now looking for a Senior AI Research Scientist, for Climate & Weather Prediction!


      NVIDIA is on the hunt for a standout AI researcher to elevate our climate simulation research. In this role, you will research, implement, test & inter-compare novel, large-scale AI methods for weather and climate simulation. This position offers you the opportunity to work alongside an elite team of experts in climate science and machine learning, creating a real-world impact in climate prediction.

      What You'll be doing:

      • Research and deploy groundbreaking AI methods for ambitious climate simulations.

      • Engage in nuanced interactions with domain experts to co-define the right ML problem.

      • Publish groundbreaking work in machine learning and climate science.

      • Collaborate across teams and transfer technology to product divisions.

      • Speak at industry events and conferences.

      • Use top-of-the-line NVIDIA GPUs at scale for pioneering research at the intersection of AI and climate science

      What we need to see:

      • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent AI research experience.

      • At least 4 years of research experience in deep learning, computer vision, generative AI, or related fields.

      • Strong programming skills, preferably in Python. Bonus for C++ and CUDA.

      • Familiarity with ML frameworks like PyTorch.

      • Experience in scaling algorithms for high computational loads.

      • Optional but helpful: Expertise in nonlinear physics or climate system dynamics and climate data engineering.

      • Experience developing in a changing software environment and ability to drive research projects end-to-end including the messy parts

      • Outstanding research portfolio.

      • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.

      The base salary range is 180,000 USD - 333,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
