      We are looking for a Senior Air Quality Engineer/ Scientist with deep expertise in air dispersion modeling and Federal New Source Review (NSR) permitting, including both Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) and Nonattainment New Source Review (NNSR) permitting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting natural gas power generation projects and be confident both executing and reviewing technical work from junior team members.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Conduct and oversee complex air dispersion modeling (AERMOD, CALPUFF, etc.) for permitting and compliance purposes.
      • Lead air permitting efforts under federal NSR regulations (PSD and Nonattainment), including BACT/LAER analyses and emissions impact assessments.
      • Prepare and review permit applications and technical documentation for natural gas-fired power generation projects.
      • Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert in regulatory strategy and client communications.
      • Provide QA/QC for deliverables prepared by junior engineers and scientists.
      • Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Atmospheric Science, or related discipline.
      • 7+ years of air quality experience, with a strong focus on NSR permitting and air modeling.
      • In-depth knowledge of federal and state air quality regulations, especially NSR, PSD, and Nonattainment rules.
      • Demonstrated experience with power generation projects, ideally natural gas.
      • Proficiency in EPA-approved dispersion models and emissions analysis tools.
      • Strong writing, communication, and technical review skills.
