- Contribute to the development of College Board assessments and supporting products in math, including item alignment to test specifications, item development, and the analysis of statistical results.
- Write and refine an assigned number of multiple-choice and constructed-response math questions and answer rationales in accordance with established quality and process standards and within established timelines.
- Review assessment content with an aim of helping monitor and improve content quality.
- Implement defined operational math assessment goals and process/procedure improvements; monitor and improve progress toward goals; serve as a content expert; and provide status updates to director-level math staff, as needed.
- Prepare for and participate in meetings with external content and fairness experts reviewing math test questions and test forms.
- Lead projects as assigned.
- Provide expertise in curriculum to internal and external clients, including working on alignments between College Board tests and national and state standards.
- Help promote a collaborative, constructive, mission-focused work environment in which the highest standards of quality and process are established and maintained; problems are prevented or quickly corrected with the least possible impact; staff are nurtured; creativity and problem solving are encouraged and rewarded; and the needs and expectations of students and other stakeholders are foremost in mind.
- Master’s degree or the equivalent education and experience in Math, Math education, Statistics, or closely related field, including the sciences, required.
- 4-6 years of experience in K-12 or K-16 test development, including development of multiple-choice and constructed-response math items, with a nationally recognized testing organization, test publisher, or state testing program highly preferred.
- Experience teaching math at the middle, secondary, or post-secondary levels to a diverse population of students highly preferred. Candidates with a background in science or teaching science, paired with strong math background, will be considered.
- In-depth exposure to state and national curriculum standards in mathematics is preferred.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications and a comfort with learning new technologies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability for national travel approximately 2-3 times a year.

We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact. The salary range for a new employee in this position i s $68,000 to $100,000. The salary offer of an individual candidate within this range is specific to their location and qualifications.

This is a 2-year term position.
This position is open to fully Remote work. Hybrid work options can be possible if you live near a College Board office location in New York, Reston, or Washington, D.C.

The Assessment Design and Development Math team is a productive, diverse, and dedicated team of highly skilled education professionals with vast experience in both the classroom and largescale assessment. We are passionate about math and are committed to improving educational opportunities and outcomes, particularly for disadvantaged students. We live all over the country and work together effectively through technology daily.

About the Opportunity
As a Senior Assessment Specialist, you will apply your enthusiasm for and experience in math education to collaboratively develop high-quality assessment content for the digital SAT Suite Math Test and related assessments. You’ll contribute to assessment-related projects within the larger Assessment Design and Development department.
Your love of numbers, comfort with technology, and enjoyment trying new approaches will enable you to contribute significantly to creating high-quality content You are self-motivated and deadline-focused, with a curious and inquisitive nature. As such, you will work hard to ensure the content you craft and review meets our rigorous standards and supports our mission to help all students own their future.
