      Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking a Senior Associate, Accounting. The Senior Associate will prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and perform special projects as needed. This will require working knowledge and experience with General Ledger and Accounts Payable functions. The Senior Accounting Associate will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and financial reporting support tasks.

      Every day will be a challenge, but every month brings new opportunities for an organization that is quickly becoming a household name in disaster response. This position reports to TR’s Manager of Accounting, and will be based out of TR’s National Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA.

      Duties:

      • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparing supporting work papers, creating and entering journal entries
      • Prepare monthly assigned balance sheet reconciliations and related supporting schedules
      • Maintain the Fixed Assets subledger, book monthly depreciation and ensure compliance with ASC 842 for lease accounting
      • Assist departments in budgeting for CAPEX
      • Maintain assigned Prepaid expenses and apply appropriate amortization at month end.
      • Support Operations Finance as necessary with reconciliations, analysis, and financial interpretation
      • Assist with the annual financial audit process and year-end 990 preparation
      • Help identify and execute improvements to internal controls
      • Perform special projects as needed

      Experience and Background:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
      • 3 - 4 years accounting experience or equivalent experience,
      • Non-profit accounting experience would be a plus
      • Some supervisory experience would be beneficial
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
      • Experience with accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics; Sparkrock would be a plus
      • Knowledge of Mission CRM (a donor management system) would be a plus
      • Strong computer skills and knowledge of software applications such as Concur and the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel (build and maintain complex models), and/or PowerPoint

      Special Requirements:

      • This is a full-time in-office position based out of Los Angeles and provides a flexible & non-traditional work schedule (relocation expenses not provided)

      Pay Range:

      • $58,252 – $87,379 per year
