      About the Position

      Milken Institute is seeking a creative, passionate, and data-driven digital marketing professional who is an expert at guiding strategy and execution across paid social, paid search, and email strategy. This candidate must have a solid understanding of how paid media can amplify brand content and messages, deliver on business objectives, and ultimately benefit earned and owned communications efforts for a variety of audiences across the Milken Institutes’ pillars.

      Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Marketing, this position is responsible for developing and executing personalized awareness and outreach strategies that position the Milken Institutes’ research, programs, and events with key and prospective audiences.

      The Senior Associate of Digital Marketing will help to build go-to-market strategies for growing the paid media practice at Milken Institute. This includes overseeing the planning, buying, managing, and optimizing paid media activities across the digital ecosystem (social, display, programmatic, and search).

      Additionally, the ideal candidate should have experience planning and executing email campaigns as well as managing email segmentation, personalization strategies, technology implementations, email delivery and acquisition efforts, and overseeing email data analysis and best practices for email design and listing quality. This candidate must have experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

      Responsibilities

      Email Strategy and Planning

      • Lead Milken Institute’s email marketing strategy and editorial calendar to drive traffic, engagement, leads, visibility, and support.
      • Manage email marketing campaigns end-to-end, including planning, targeting, building, testing, reporting, and optimization.
      • Develop documentation and road maps for processes and A/B tests for communication needs that succeed through email.
      • Stay current with best practices, strategies, and industry standards related to email marketing.

      List Management

      • Direct activities related to Salesforce Marketing Cloud contact management, ensuring that email lists are healthy and continue to grow.
      • Segment lists based on behaviors like past email engagement and website interactions.
      • Purge non-deliverable email addresses and opt-outs and follow up on interested respondents.

      Paid Media

      • Oversee the planning and execution of advertising campaigns to ensure successful audience engagement and activation, from strategy to creative review to placement and reporting.
      • Continually audit and analyze paid advertising strategy (i.e. – properties used, ad types, spend levels) and redefine as necessary.
      • Provide expertise and guidance on allocating digital marketing spend and investment to achieve goals and objectives.

      Research and Reporting

      • Create email and paid media reporting dashboards and custom reports analyzing campaign performance to provide actionable recommendations and continuously improve the Milken Institute’s campaigns.
      • Work closely with other team members to create reporting dashboards and analyses that will help drive business goals.
      • Conduct keyword research, discovery, expansion, and optimization to support organic search results. Work with team members to drive SEO in content creation.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or related field.
      • Minimum five years of experience developing and managing optimized marketing campaigns in a nonprofit, political, or public policy setting with increasing responsibility.
      • Experience building campaigns within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
      • Ability to translate complex and varied inputs, including digital behavioral data and analytics, market research, industry and competitive trends and more, into a clear, cohesive narrative that leads to actionable strategies.
      • Excellent understanding of marketing concepts and metrics.
      • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and email design best practices.
      • Experience writing copy to translate and promote complex materials and craft messages for specific audience segments for ads and emails.

      Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

      This position will work in a professional office environment. This person will also be required to travel occasionally to other offices and/or venues to assist with events as needed, requiring occasional work outside of traditional hours.

      This position will be working a hybrid model, where you will be expected to report to your respective office location 3-days per week (Tuesday - Thursday) , this is subject to change.
