      The Position

      Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) Consulting is our in-house management consultancy for the entire North America enterprise. We work on high impact projects across the value chain, from business transformation to launch support. Projects can be strategic or operational in nature, but are always important to NNI, as a member of our Executive team sponsors every project.

      The team reports to NNI's CFO/COO. As a part of the team, you will work closely with business executives on high impact projects to rethink and reshape business priorities and collaborate across teams to understand complex business problems across the firm's value chain. The projects involve high visibility, steep learning, and contribution to highly impactful causes. They cut across strategy and operations and provide you an opportunity to gain insight into functional and therapeutic areas across the firm. Consulting services include business transformation, commercial operations, commercial strategy, market access, growth strategy, operating model optimization, technology implementation, crisis management, and enterprise transformation.

      Relationships

      Reports to the head of NNI Consulting or NNI Consulting Senior Leadership.

      Key stakeholders include Global Novo Nordisk Consulting Team, Project relevant key stakeholders.

      Essential Functions

      • Project Execution:

        • Supports a project lead by executing on tasks/ workstreams in line with project lead expectations

        • Structures issues once identified. Can apply hypotheses and structure problem solving sessions

        • Prepares project plans with draft milestones and meets deadlines (high quality output) with support from NNI Consulting project lead

        • Facilitates data gathering and captures notes from interviews with internal and external input providers with support from NNI Consulting project lead

        • With some guidance, demonstrates an ability to structure and execute on quantitative and qualitative analyses and support development of recommendations

        • Prepares slides using conscious application of structured communication approaches (e.g., top-down vs. bottom-up) with support from NNI Consulting project lead

        • Creates project structure via minutes, scheduling necessary project meetings, ensures appropriate meeting cadence, etc.

      • Department Support:

        • Participates in and contributes to department meetings and other internal Novo Nordisk wide and department specific activities

      • Other Areas of Responsibility:

        • Provides upwards feedback to senior colleagues and takes responsibility for own development e.g., by responding constructively to feedback

        • Participates in internal and external training

        • Demonstrates exceptional drive, initiative, a can-do attitude, and a fast ability to learn (both internally and in project settings)

      Physical Requirements

      0-10% overnight travel required.

      Qualifications

      • A Bachelor's in Economic, Commercial, Scientific, Engineering, or related field is required

      • Two (2) years of relevant professional experience required

      • Working understanding of pharmaceutical industry is preferred but can be substituted for a passion to develop expertise in the pharmaceutical space

      • Project and/or Consulting experience is preferred

      • Existing familiarity with general business processes (Marketing, Access, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc.); or a demonstrated aptitude to learn quickly

      • Strong presentation skills to generate insights, manage data and present to various levels of leadership as needed.

      • Aptitude to create working drafts of structured top-down written and oral communication which is finalized with coaching

      • Exceptional analytical and visualization skills

      • Proficient in using PC tools (PowerPoint and Excel) is required with an interest to improve speed and capabilities

      • Strong language and presentation skills (written and oral) with executive presence to address any level of management

      • Ability to adapt, and efficiently pivot with ever-changing business needs, deadlines, or evolving circumstances. Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage ambiguity, and demonstrate professional flexibility.
