- Support in both test and manufacturing environments
- Interface and collaborate with Management, Program Office, Engineering, Test and Supplier Quality Engineering functions with respect to technical requirements.
- Knowledge in ISO/AS9100 specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to both internal and external customers, often through presentations format
- Liaison for DCMA (as needed)
- Work on Continuous Improvement Projects, lead Corrective / Preventive Action investigations (RCCA’s, 8D/DMAIC), champion ZDP (Zero Defect Plans), lead Special Projects, Manage budget and resources.
- Develop and implement program quality plans and procedures using statistical quality controls and analyses.
- Review and approve engineering specification such as Work Authorization Flow Tags (WOFTs), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), drawings, models, manufacturing work instruction for adequacy, quality, and compliance to specification and contractual requirements.
- Material Review Board collaboration
- FRACAS and Failure Analysis (support role in Test Failure Review Board (FRB) meetings)
- Creation of Quality Plans and SDRL / CDRL requirements
- May require overtime which may include supporting off shift (2nd, 3rd shift) QE coverage (as needed) plus occasional travel.
- Ability to work and ensure success in role with minimal direct supervision
- Train other functions: Test, Engineering, Quality personnel to ensure documented processes are followed within Test and Manufacturing environments.
- Perform/conduct updates to APQP deliverables, FAI reports, internal audits, etc.
- Potential travel in support of Customer needs.
- Integrate/maintain APQP to current Program Lifecyle.
- Review/assign/update appropriate Quality Clauses to purchased products.
- Review/approve test procedures/prints with proper validation for customer concurrence.
- Review trend/metric data for continuous/process improvements
- Uphold QMS/Command Media requirements at all times.
- Coordinate with other functions to support complex work arounds.
- Lead high visibility RCCA’s.
- Communicate effectively with PMO (Program Management Office) and Ops personnel.
- Lead FAI and process validation activities and efforts
- Requires practical knowledge of job area. Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Experience in product Qualification and/or Safety of Flight processes,
- Driving Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) throughout the Product Maturity Cycle
- Ability to task or give clear directions to new Quality Engineers and Quality Control team members
- Support formal customer reviews; PRRs, TRRs etc.
- Lean/Six Sigma training (Preference is certified green/black belt)
- Experience in the Space and Defense Industry is preferred
- ASQ certification or demonstrated application of these principles on programs.
- Willingness to work 2nd/3rd shifts if required
- Strong ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive tasks to closure to support customer commitments and business objectives
- Understanding of Windows environment including standard Microsoft Office tools is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of quality assurance principles/methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment yet maintain professional Quality separation.
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is preferred
