CAR T cell and eTCR T cell generation, expansion, characterization and cryopreservation
CAR T cell and eTCR T cell phenotypic analysis using flow cytometry.
In vitro functional evaluation using T cell/cancer cell co-culture assays
Cytotoxic activity using IncuCyte
Collaborating with scientists and other researchers to design, perform and optimize in vitro experiments
Maintaining notebooks with detailed documentation of protocols, study designs and results
Perform data analysis and interpretation
Organize findings for effective communication to supervisor and colleagues
Bachelor’s Degree
4+ years of academic and / or industry experience
Master’s Degree
2+ years of academic and / or industry experience
B.S. in biological science, immunology or related discipline with at least 6 years of relevant work experience or M.S. with minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in T cell biology
Experience with in vitro technologies typically employed to assess T cell functionality including but not limited to MSD, IncuCyte-based assays, multi-parameter flow cytometry for phenotypic characterization of T cells, T cell activation assays, T cell proliferation analysis. Experience with high throughput, gene editing, and/or imaging technologies desired but not required
Experience with experimental assay automation and robotic instrumentation preferred
Able to recognize potential problems and recommend/develop appropriate solutions
Ability to work productively as both team member and as individual contributor
Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams as well or cross-departmental colleagues
Requires strong organizational skills to ensure thorough and timely documentation of experiments

The Immuno-Oncology and Cellular Therapy Thematic Research Center is one of the fundamental research and development engines delivering therapeutics to patients. Our mission is to drive leadership in the use of immune effector cell-based therapies in hematological and solid cancers. More specifically, we are focused on developing engineered cell-based therapies, as well as biotherapeutics, both aimed at harnessing the power of immune cells to mediate anti-tumor activity. The team integrates discovery research seamlessly with preclinical sciences, translational research and early clinical development in collaboration with colleagues across the Research and Development organization. Our thematic focus allows the group to capitalize on the cutting-edge science that underpins the action of many of the company’s most innovative therapeutics, without being constrained by drug modality or disease indication.

The Cell Therapy Preclinical Biology team in the Immuno-Oncology Cell Therapy Thematic Research Center has an opening for a highly motivated and creative Associate or Senior Associate Scientist with a dedication to discovery and development of novel engineered CAR T and eTCR T cell therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. The successful candidate will have experience setting up in vitro functional assays to measure T cell function, including: proliferation, cytokine production, phenotypic analysis and cytotoxic activity. Flow cytometry experience is essential; experience with high throughput methods and/or gene editing is a plus. This position will involve interfacing with senior researchers to designa and execute studies, analyze data and communicate results. This position is ideal for the innovative researcher who is driven and passionate about cell therapy in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $75,000 to $95,000 plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
