      Position Description

      The Senior Benefits Analyst will work closely and report to the Manager of Benefits while also supporting the Director of Benefits, H&W and Leave. This analytical resource primary responsibilities will be focused on various areas of employee benefit programs by providing strategic evaluation, implementation and supporting the management of large, complex benefits programs and vendors that impact the lives of over 90,000 employees and dependents. This position will partner with the internal Benefits Administration Director, other Benefit Team members, Human Resources, Legal and Corporate Communications, supported by multiple third-party administrators, service and carrier partners.

      Key Relationships:

      • The Senior Benefits Analyst will work closely with (and report to) the Manager while working closely with the Director and Senior Director
      • Works with Total Rewards COE teams and key stakeholders to ensure understanding of program design and integrated solutions
      • Works with Legal and Human Resources to ensure adherence to Tenet Enterprise plans and policies
      • Maintains and manage relationships with external vendors to support the benefit programs
      • Works closely with third parties on all aspects of compliance requirements of the benefit and leave programs

      Key accountabilities include:

      • Support management and administrative practices to ensure they follow plan documents, ERISA, Department of Labor regulations and Union Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) for all US Health and Insurance programs.
      • Understand all Health and Insurance policies and program guidelines.
      • Support and in some cases, lead, ad-hoc benefit projects such as acquisitions, divestitures and outsourcing transactions.
      • Create standardized processes, templates, and guides for acquisitions and divestiture projects and work with Administration team and carriers.
      • Assist in managing H&I participant escalations from 3rd party vendors, HR, Senior Leadership, Legal, Department of Labor (DOL), etc. including research, resolution and consultation with management and/or legal counsel.
      • Ensures Tenet is compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to H&W and Leaves; ensure timely/accurate processing
      • Support digital and print communications for H&W including Annual Enrollment, SPDs, as well as ad-hoc communication requests.
      • Manage participant claim and appeals including research and drafting determination letters.
      • Support and in some cases manage, Health and Insurance execution and maintenance of communications including US Summary Plan Descriptions/Summary Material Modifications, Summary Benefit Comparisons, Employee communications and HR training materials.
      • Perform a key role in Annual Enrollment process to ensure benefits are delivered accurately and timely by working with key stakeholders and 3rd party vendors.
      • Monitor and maintain best in-class operational performance guarantees that align with overall vendor management strategy and objectives.
      • Manage projects and performs other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree required. Certified Employee Benefits (CEBS) a plus.
      • 5+ years health and welfare analysis experience in a large company required.
      • Familiarity with Health & Insurance and ERISA.
      • Ability to analyze large volumes of data, develop meaningful insights and recommendations.
      • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced and challenging environment.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills; effectively throughout organization.
      • Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
      • Excellent project management and organizational skills; must be able to prioritize, multitask and manage project deadlines.

      Compensation

      • Pay: $66,560 - $106,080 annually. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
      • Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
