  He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role:

  We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst to help us evolve our Rail Operations capability. You’ll be at the heart of our transformation journey — applying strategic insight and service design practices to drive improvements across our transport services ecosystem.

  Based in Auckland or Wellington, you’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders to map out current processes, develop customer journeys, and help design integrated solutions that are effective, customer-focused, and future-ready.

  You’ll be part of a team moving from traditional analysis to a more holistic, service design-led approach — using your skills to bridge gaps, improve delivery, and foster cross-functional collaboration.

  We’re looking for a confident communicator and critical thinker who thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

  To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Service Designer

  • Expertise in requirements gathering, customer journey mapping, and service design frameworks

  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies

  • Proficiency in analysis tools and techniques (e.g. SWOT, Lean, Six Sigma, PESTLE)

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Experience with business modelling, process improvement, and IT systems design
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to working with others

  It’s also helpful if you have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. business, IT, economics)

  • Professional certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA

  • Familiarity with the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA 8)
