Job Description
- Req#: R24270
- Develops business and marketing plans for assigned business, including pricing strategies, sales plans and implementation plans.
- Collaborates with the S&OP (sales and operations planning) team and business leadership, providing analysis and recommendations for schedule optimization and the management of short term forecast change requests.
- Support the development of the annual business plan to optimize asset utilization in alignment with the long term strategy.
- Provide monthly analysis of business performance vs plan to identify variations in key areas including market growth, sales volume, sales price, product cost/value, profitability, etc.
- Participates in, evaluates, and reports market research and analysis associated with assigned product lines. This includes networking with customers and monitoring competitor strategies.
- Works closely with sales, engineering, and production on design, distribution, and product specifications/changes as needed. Also handles tactical issues associated with service, sales, quality and/or supply chain as required.
- Assists in monthly estimate preparation, real-time tracking, and post-mortem deviation analysis.
- Tracks and analyzes product order patterns, customer demand, and works with product planners to ensure customer requirements are being met at the lowest cost to serve.
- Conducts product training and represents product(s) at industry trade shows or customer events as needed.
- Any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Fully supports Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.
- Bachelor degree in technical or business-related field. Advanced business degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years commercial experience in sales, marketing, business analysis or product management, preferably within the chemical industry.
- Position requires skills in the fundamentals of marketing, sales, and financial analysis.
- Incumbent must have strong analytical/modeling skills with experience in the chemical, petroleum, or manufacturing business.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and be able to develop accurate, detailed analyses under time pressure.
- Must have effective verbal/written/presentation skills.

SUMMARY
Key oversight in the day-to-day activities of the assigned strategic business unit. Key role in supporting the short-term commercial performance as well as the development and execution of the annual and long-term business plans. Works closely with sales, product planning, logistics, and production in the optimization of new/existing customers and markets. Tracks and analyzes demand data, customer satisfaction and many other aspects of the business including external market information related to product line.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
