  Job Description:
  The Senior Business Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on Power BI and Excel reporting for a subgroup within the Electric Transmission & Substation organization. This role involves analyzing complex data models, creating customized reports, and delivering data-driven recommendations to leadership. Candidates should possess strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of analytical tools and techniques.
  Responsibilities:
  • Act as SME on Power BI and Excel reporting

  • Analyze complex data models and generate customized reports

  • Develop and use metrics to support business strategies and operations

  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership

  • Understand and communicate the business implications behind the data
  Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role
  Desired Education and Experience:
  • Master of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field

  • 6+ years of Business Analyst experience

  • Experience in the utility sector, ideally in electric utilities
  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Power Platform, especially Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data integration)

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with a variety of methods and approaches

  • Ability to interpret data and communicate the business drivers behind trends

  • Strong presentation and communication abilities for multiple levels of leadership

  • Highly organized and self-sufficient with task tracking and prioritization

  • Adaptability to shifting business needs and ambiguity
  Additional Notes:
  • Locality Preferences:

    • 1st: Bay Area

    • 2nd: Northern California

    • 3rd: Southern California or out-of-state for exceptional candidates

  • Work Arrangement:

    • 90% remote/hybrid; onsite in Oakland or Dublin offices, approx. once every 2 weeks (flexible)

    • May include ad-hoc travel within the region

  • Equipment Requirements:

    • Candidates must have a home office setup including: 2 monitors, keyboard, mouse, and headset

    • Our client will confirm laptop provisioning timelines, which may impact the assignment start date
