Support Analytical Initiatives: You’ll play a crucial role in driving analytical projects and deliverables across all OLG lines of business.
Proactively monitor customer and operational performance across the Enterprise and report on areas of opportunity.
Provide objective analytical expertise in the development of high-profile business cases and/or ad hoc projects.
Increase OLG’s ability to compete on analytics by developing and implementing automated and integrated methodologies for data retrieval, analysis and interpretation of a wide variety of key performance indicators.
Develop new insights through research and exploration of internal and external information sources to uncover potential relationships that can be exploited to drive future profitability within the organization.
Drive out analytical models & reports supplementing budgeting, forecasting and planning, trend analysis and benchmarking using various reporting tools.
Develop and maintain effective business relationships, acting as the analytical subject matter expert within assigned area of specialization.
Monitor all published operational data and take action/ownership to ensure accuracy, consistency, relevance and timeliness of the information. Contribute to improving the quality of information by auditing existing data collection/input processes.
Responsible for the creation of support documentation for analysis findings, presentations, reports, training sessions, templates, etc.
Collaborate with Senior Leadership: In this role, you’ll work closely with senior leadership to drive continuous improvement, maximize value and evolve the analytic needs of the organization.
Understand customer behaviour and assist in developing acquisition, augmentation and retention strategies.
Develop analytical models, reports and dashboards.
Participate in the development of predictive modelling which identifies gaming market opportunity potential throughout Ontario, along with developing insight generation that aides with strategic business decision making.
Drive Analytics-Based Solutions: As part of your role, you’ll collaborate closely with key stakeholders, understanding business opportunities, and proposing data-driven solutions to address organizational challenges. This often involves working collaboratively with other teams across the organization.
Communicate with key stakeholders at all levels to translate complex concepts into actionable insights.

Senior Business Analytics Analyst

We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Senior Business Analytics Analyst to be responsible for supporting and contributing towards the OLG's operational, financial, digital and strategic initiatives through the compilation, analysis and interpretation of information to all senior decision makers, up to and including the Executive Committee. In addition, this position includes performing research and analytical functions to provide management with deep business intelligence and objective, fact-based recommendations to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the management decision making process within the OLG.

Reporting to the Sr Manager, Business Analytics, you will be empowered to:
WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY
Work Experience: 5 or more years of experience in an analytical role. Experience working with BI reporting tools and statistical software. Experience working with Hadoop and related big data technologies. Experience building, updating and explaining data analysis and advanced analytical modeling. Experience wrangling, cleansing and automating disparate data sources to power analytical outputs.
Education: A University degree in business/commerce, statistics, computer science, economics, finance or mathematics. Knowledge of key languages and platforms such as: SQL, Alteryx, Python, Power BI, Excel, Hadoop, Impala, Hive, Spark, Tableau, SAS, R, GA 360, ESRI ARC GIS.
Critical Skills: Technical skills: BI dashboard &reporting tools and statistical software. Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) combined with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple competing priorities to meet deadlines. Data translation capabilities: ability to explain analytical and statistical modeling. Collaboration: comfortable reaching out and collaborating across a large organization. Results driven and an effective self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills who thrives in an environment that demands teamwork.
