- Data Advisor 18: Salaries typically range from $94,664 to $126,219 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
- Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, or Mississauga.

- The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:
- Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
- Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
- Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
- Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.

Reporting to the Director, Data Delivery Enablement, the role will be accountable for driving EDC’s data modernization strategy by providing the business data analysis for the data initiatives in support of EDC’s transformation. The role will also be accountable to provide business and data expertise to lead the execution of deliverables by executing the business requirements and data analysis activities within the delivery squad with our lines of business partners. This role will work with the Product Owner to ensure the adoption of outcomes and transition to sustainability.
- The EDOT (Enterprise Data Operations and Technology) group under DTS significantly impacts EDC’s business operations by ensuring the enterprise data ecosystem runs smoothly and efficiently, delivering reliable and timely data to the business and supporting strategic initiatives across the organization. Within EDOT, the Data Delivery Enablement team’s mission is to optimize the availability of timely, accurate and reliable data, enabling business stakeholders to make data-driven decisions. Through strategic planning, cross-team collaboration and solution governance, we integrate business goals with data solutions to achieve maximum impact.
- As the Senior Business Data Analyst is a critical liaison between business needs and technical data solutions, transforming business requirements into actionable data initiatives. This role champions data governance and solution governance, ensuring all initiatives adhere to established policies and align with the organization's data strategy, while influencing the prioritization of EDOTs portfolio backlog to deliver timely business value. This role facilitates collaboration between technical and business teams, guaranteeing data quality, security, and privacy throughout the data delivery lifecycle.
- Gather, document, and analyze data requirements, breaking down complex needs through data analysis when required and querying to ensure accurate identification of business scenarios and source system discrepancies.
- Define requirements and technical specifications for data products and solutions, documenting business processes and standard operating procedures.
- Work closely with the EDOT team to translate requirements into actionable work, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical implementation.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, management, Line of Business SMEs, and team members to ensure solution governance artifacts are clearly understood, optimizing overall data delivery.
- Contribute to the data strategy by aligning business needs, feasibility, and execution approach to achieve desired outcomes.
- Enabling the data strategy by collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize and negotiate solutions delivery, and lead business prioritization of the portfolio backlog.
- Through feasibility analysis highlight risks, dependencies, and deliverable timelines. Collaborating with product owners to ensure business value is delivered by effectively managing risks and dependencies effectively.
- Align data needs and design with EDC's information management policy to ensure compliance and consistency with organizational standards.
- Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or in a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a business/data analysis role involving reporting/analytics projects, data warehouse and/or data platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively influence, communicate, and engage with stakeholders, peers, and colleagues, across the organization.
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of successfully gathering, refining, and prioritizing business requirements and use cases.
- Solid understanding of Data Governance and Data Management practices.
- Experience in business intelligence, data, and reporting related transformation projects.
- Experience working with Customer Data Platforms (CDP) and Master Data Management (MDM) solutions to build unified customer profiles and data integrity across the enterprise.
- Ability to simplify technology & data communications for business consumption.
- Knowledge of the banking and/or insurance industries .
- Bilingual in both official languages of Canada (English and French).
