Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, SEO

Join our dynamic, data-driven SEO team at Expedia Group, where innovation and collaboration across departments shape our unique approach to traditional SEO. As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in steering our global organic search strategy, driving traffic and transaction growth on Expedia Group sites. Collaborate with Brand, Content Analytics, Technical, and Product teams to integrate and implement strategic organic search concepts, aligning with channel goals and business objectives.

The team is looking for an analytical and creative Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to develop innovative data solutions that turn vast data into powerful insights, and drive well-informed decision making across our product, sales, operations, and marketing teams.

As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will work with our broader Analytics team and business users across a global organization. You will understand business needs, build core sets of reports, enable self-service reporting and support business workflow optimization. Your work will include scalable, high quality reports, and dashboards that utilize the capabilities of our BI platform, employing high quality designs and data visualizations. You are highly analytical and innovative, and able to use creative problem-solving skills to move quickly from ideation to implementation. You will work with a team of BI and Reporting Analysts, and serve as a key member in our premier media organization.

What you'll do:

• Conduct exploratory analysis of available data sets, and design, develop and test complex queries to fulfill ad hoc data requests

• Design and develop automated ongoing metrics, reports, dashboards, etc. to build awareness of key opportunities and inform better business decisions

• Investigate any potential data errors and work with the broader team to ensure corrective measures are taken

• Apply current data visualization techniques and creative formats to effectively engage users and clearly communicate key insights

• Create and maintain technical and user documentation

• Support end users, providing guidance on BI tools and the data contained within them

• Develop and execute quality assurance test plans, and manage the UAT process and feedback loop

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree with focus on data and analysis

• 3+ years with data analysis and developing reporting and dashboard solutions within Tableau or Looker

• Strong knowledge of SQL for data source creation, ad hoc analysis, and testing/validation

• Understanding and experience working with relational and dimensional datasets, data warehouses, and data mining within various DB platforms and query engines

• Familiarity with Python and API-based data retrieval

• Familiarity with basic design principles as they relate to Data Visualization and User Interaction

• A demonstrated ability to learn, acquire and utilize new technologies, disciplines and frameworks as needed

• Good communication skills, with the ability to translate and present technical information to business users

• Background in online advertising, e-commerce, web analytics, business measurement or comparable reporting and analytics function
