      Job summary

      This is a Senior Clinical Fellow post in Hepatobiliary and Liver transplant Anaesthesia based at the Royal Free Hospital. The post holder will join an existing pool of deanery trainees in the anaesthetics department who are taking part in a comprehensive ST3+ (specialist trainee year 3 and above) training program in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine.

      This role is offered as a 12 month FTC or two sequential 6 month FTCs.

      Main duties of the job

      Participation in on call rota for liver transplantation anaesthesia)

      Anaesthesia for elective HPB theatres

      Anaesthesia for elective complex major surgery

      Participation in clinical audit

      Participation in teaching and training

      Qualifications

      Essential

      • GMC registration
      • MBBS or equivalent
      • FRCA or equivalent
      • ALS
      • Strong oral and written communications in English

      Desirable

      • ATLS
      • APLS/EPALS

      Anaesthetic knowledge and experience

      Essential

      • Minimum 5 years ICU/Anaesthetics experience (incl 3 year anaesthetics)
      • Logbook evidence of experience

      Desirable

      • Experience of ERAS pathways
      • Able to deal with general emergency admissions
      • Experience in managing acute pain
