Job Description:

Old Republic Title seeks an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our national commercial title group. The ideal candidate will have a passion for real estate and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting commercial single-site transactions; commercial multi-site and multi-state refinance and sale transactions as well as answering inquiries from customers and staff on pending transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review title documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Research title issues and identify solutions.

• Prepare title commitments, policies, endorsements and other related documents.

• Act as a liaison between clients and other parties involved in the transaction.

• Analyze title commitments and others related title products.

• Coordinate and communicate with internal staff and external stakeholders.

• Manage and monitor the progress of the process from start to finish.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Law degree required, with licensure strongly preferred (in any state).

• Knowledge of real estate law and title standards.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Sedentary work: The majority of activity in this position involves sedentary work including sitting, standing, twisting, walking and the occasional need to lift or move objects.
