      In this role, you will be a key member of our Communications Team, working to deliver effective communications that contribute to business performance and advance our strategy.

      Minimum Requirements:

      • University degree or related post-secondary diploma/certificate in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Journalism or associated field
      • 8+ years of experience as a communications generalist, preferably within a corporate setting
      • Experience as a trusted and strategic communication consultant to internal or external teams helping them manage communication issues and reputational challenges
      • Ability to synthesize and translate complex information into a cohesive, compelling and easy to understand narrative
      • Requires poise, discretion, impeccable judgement and exemplary posture and polish

      Responsibilities:

      • Support the delivery of communications services, plans and programs to the business leadership team at the Commerce City Refinery to help achieve strategic priorities, mitigate risk and leverage opportunities for Suncor while reflecting Suncor's business and communication priorities, strategy, and values
      • Provide communication counsel to and maintain strong relationships with leadership team to effectively communicate important business information using a variety of tools as required
      • Support Suncor’s issues management process to help advance business interests and protect and enhance the company’s reputation in Colorado and Wyoming including issues identification, prioritization, and strategy development
      • Work collaboratively to support internal and external communications, including internal engagements, community notifications/alerts, crisis communications, and issues management
      • Act as a member of Suncor’s on-call response management team to provide timely communication and stakeholder/community relations support during emergencies or critical events
      • Build an understanding of the business environment including potential risks to provide business leaders with strategic advice on key issues risk monitoring and trending to help navigate reputational challenges
      • Acquire an understanding of community in the Colorado market and be ready to provide timely communications support to the business during emergencies or critical events

      Location and other Key Details:

      • You will work out of our Commerce City Refinery Business Center, located at 5455 Brighton Blvd.
      • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs as well as on-call rotation
      • Occasional business travel

      Salary and Compensation Details

      • $115,000 – 125,000 annual salary and an annual incentive program
