- Develop inspiring and engaging internal and external communications strategies to position the Sanlam Fintech cluster in line with the vision of the cluster and the Group strategy.
- Implement action plans for both internal and external communications ensuring an on-going presence, through high-quality engaging communication, positioning Sanlam Fintech both internally and externally.
- Ensure that all internal and external communications reinforce the company's brand identity and values.
- Develop and maintain a consistent & unique tone of voice across all communication channels.
- Develop and maintain the cluster’s executive profiles internally and externally.
- Establish and maintain all communications policies and procedures.
- Ensure internal communication channels effectively support the Group’s messaging needs in a credible and engaging manner, appropriate to the cluster.
- Support Human Capital teams to ensure effective communication of HR-related matters, as needed.
- Foster and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders across all businesses and partnerships.
- In partnership with Human Capital, engage staff through initiatives like employee engagement, volunteerism, and brand ambassadorship.
- You have a good network in the PR community appropriate to the products, services, expertise, and vision of the cluster.
- Manage and engage third-party agencies and internal design teams to deliver on the communications strategy.
- Assess the impact of both internal and external communications strategies on the business and brand's reputation and in internal culture, and report back.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust where necessary.
- Assist in executing the Crisis Communications strategy as needed.
- Oversee both internal and external communications budgets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- 5-10+ years’ experience working as an internal and external communication manager.
- Demonstrated ability in developing and executing successful communication strategies and building brand reputation.
- Experience in crisis communication management.
- Relevant experience within the Financial Services and tech industries will be an advantage.

What will you do?
The Senior Communications Manager will lead internal and external communications for its newly established Fintech cluster. You have a diverse and versatile skill set and can think strategically yet also work tactically. You have created and executed multi-channel (digital, print, events, PR, social media, Everlytic email platform, internal SharePoint and MS Teams) communications strategies, and are comfortable working with early-stage products and companies. You enjoy the challenge of navigating ambiguity and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. You can coordinate news, ideas, and communications strategy across multiple business units to both support those businesses but also drive the overall Fintech cluster communications objectives. You have excellent, adaptive writing skills. You thrive in a team of passionate and driven people, who are not afraid to ask the tough questions, and who care about doing things well. You are comfortable engaging with senior executives across the cluster, to understand their communications needs and their business functions, and to support their internal staff communications and culture growth – in some cases, establishing these from scratch.
